OK, I fees up and agree it may have been possible. After examining the photos more closely I see the brake cable has been routed on top of the power steering lines, it should be below. So with the metal lines rusting away and the cable rubbing on it with road debris I guess it would have worn through, but still, those metal lines are rusting away. Want to know how may sets I sell and how many I install myself every month ? AND I am not the only one selling this kit now, other vendors have figured out the way to circumnavigate my invention of fifteen years ago ! Plus others have installed hoses of their own making also, so soon all the Vanagons left in the world with power steering will be without any metal power steering lines !

Now......I'm off to BusFusion for the weekend to discuss the merits of Tequila & beer on the human psyche while involved in Vanagon repair in the year 2011 !
