I obsessively use anti-seize on *nearly all* external fasteners, but never on any fastener that has direct access to the oil supply. In general, I can't think of a downside to using anti-seize as a default strategy. I'm also sort of obsessive about using Permatex Hylomar on most gasket applications. The stuff remains pliable forever, and I used it quite liberally when I recently R&R'd my H2O pump.
