I've been using roughly this same configuration with my Navman 570 since late 2005 with good success. Lately, I've been swapping in my Samsung android depending on the need. I prefer not to use the phone if I can use the Navman. And I do use a hands free bluetooth ear piece for driving. Makes a big difference and keeps my eyes on the road....
