Looked sort of like this (or maybe this WAS it, just a beat-up version...only got a quick glance):  http://www.rpmgo.com/cars/v/1973_vw_transporter_bus_cabrio/1973_vw_transporter_bus_cabrio02.jpg.html Anybody know if there was a Vanagon Cabrio? ________________________________ From: Richard Koerner <rjkinpb@SBCGLOBAL.NET> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Friday, June 17, 2011 2:19 PM Subject: Convertible VW Bus On the way home from work the other day I had to do a double take:  some guy used a Sawz-All or something to cut the roof off of a 68-ish Baywindow bus.  He cut behind the front windshield, then above the "waistline" all around, removing all rear windows in the process.  Surprisingly, it looked pretty cool!  Just a hack job.  But the guy must have wanted a convertible, and a VW bus!  So he made his own.  Don't know how he dealt with the slider...I only saw it from the back and the driver's side.  Don't know if he kept seats in it (like those New York City tourbuses open to the sky) or used it for cargo (tall items for sure!).  Maybe if I see it again, I'll snap a photo.  Great beach cruiser.  Kind of reminded me of a VW Thing.
