Subject: rear seat belt options?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

I'm planning on installing shoulder belts for the rear bench of our 83 westy. One right away, so that my wife can sometimes sit next to our soon-to-arrive little-one when he rides in the car seat, and later, a second one that the little guy himself can use.

It seems the oem seatbelt for the passenger side (253857816D) is no longer available, and this is the one I wanted to install first... so I have a couple questions...

has anybody compared the oem seatbelt and the gowesty aftermarket alternative side-by-side and have any opinions on the comparative quality? (Assuming I can't get 253857816D new, I guess the alternative would be to try to get it used.)

The gowesty seatbelt apparently works on both sides. The left-side rear seatbelt 253857815D is still available... can this be used on the passenger side?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

-Wes
