Hi Jeff,

L-Jetronic H-4 engines (1975 - 1983) used basically identical injectors connected to a steel fuel rail using short lengths of rubber hose. I had used these exclusively for about 4 years before I bought my first vanagon and discovered the "upgrade" to plastic rails.

Last summer I replaced all the fuel lines on a local 1986 Vanagon and in the process broke the inlet nipple off of one of the plastic digifant rails. I replaced it with a metal L-jet rail and it worked just fine

$48 seems kind of steep. I am sure the L-Jet fuel rails could be found in good shape for a whole lot less.

Happy Trails,
