Subject: Anyone want a $1200 AAZ donor Jetta in San Francisco?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

As usual, I got carried away buying cars. Couldn't resist a deal. Now reality is setting in. I have no Vanagon which needs an AAZ. I already have spare engines. And this Jetta is only good for parts.

It's Canadian with Canadian plates. Came from Ontario and very rusty. Corrosion on the engine too. But hey it runs and has PS & AC. It's a 5-speed car but clutch is no good. Seller is delivering it to me in San Francisco by 'double clutching' all the way.

Bottom end was rebuilt because of a broken crank not too long ago. Receipts as proof. Coolant weeping a little so needs headgasket redone. A local shop will remove engine and replace gasket for me for $700. I can pass on that price to buyer also. Disposal of remains is another $100. You can defray some of the cost by selling off things like the 5-speed Jetta trans.

Anyone? Anyone? Here's your chance to 'dieselize' your Vanagon the simple way. For those who aren't familiar with the AAZ, it's a 1.9 turbodiesel. Pre-chamber type and not TDI. Got one in my Syncro. Mechanical pump. "One wire" engine.

Pmail inquiries.
