That is where I'll be putting mine. In my engine set up (inline VW gas, mounted diesel style) the Brainbox is mounted on the leading edge of my passenger D-pillar and I have a cool air snorkel routed up through there also, so that side is full.

I've been researching available pieces/parts online. There are lots of available options. I am leaning towards a cooler set-up that is widely available using Empi components. Empi is/was well known in the aircooled and the off-road set. Unless they've been bought up by a conglomerate and drastically changed their build quality, their coolers seem about the best value. These are sold in various sizes and configured into complete or partial systems all over the net by the VW tuner set.

I am planning on using an air deflector outside to gather more air into my driver's side D-pillar vent also, in conjunction with a NACA duct through the bottom of that flat spot just ahead of the tail light to provide some suction. I am thinking there must be a low pressure area behind the driver's rear wheel. I'm planning on blocking off the corner from the engine compartment because my exhaust headers pass nearby. Don Hanson

I'll not be using a fan. My oil temp only seems to rise under very high speed(for a vanagon)/high load.
