The #1 and #3 plugs can suffer corrosion between the ends of the plug wires and the plugs. This phenomenon baffled me until it happened within six months of installing new long block, new plugs, new wires, etc., and then having sudden poor performance within six months. Vendor of new plug wires, etc., suggested checking the connections at #1 and #3 plugs. I found heavy corrosion and ends of connectors at ends of wires almost corroded off. Get some dielectric grease at auto parts store and apply to connections after cleaning them. New plug wires may be needed. John
