Excellent .. appreciate the link. 1.9 diesel blocks are a whole inch taller than a 1.6 block.. and they fit in a diesel vanagon nicely. I do notice the Tiico stuff is pretty packed against the left firewall .. a function of block height . Perhaps we'll end up with a 1.8 Tiico .. or maybe it already has a 1.8 block. go info, thanks ! scott www.turbovans.com ----- Original Message ----- From: miguel pacheco To: Scott Daniel - Turbovans Cc: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Sent: Monday, June 27, 2011 4:35 AM Subject: Re: I4 Happenings in turbovans land
Scott, I got the following, from http://www.foreignautosupply.com/Tiico_Owners_Page.html Engine Details: The Tiico is a 2.0L and not a 1.8L. The block is of a 1.8L but the Crank, piston rod, and piston exchange provide the displacement to increase to 2.0L. The purpose of this is to have a block that is 2cm lower so everything fits under the engine lid. Miguel
