It lowers the seat about an inch and a half. While that doesn't sound like much, on my last Westy I removed the swivel base (easy to do) and sold it for a chunk of change on Ebay. At 6'4", it lowered the seat enough that i no longer had to bend down to look up when stopped at traffic lights, and the sun visor no longer blocked my view even when up. My current Westy, an '85 Wolfsburg Weekender did not have the swivel seats, so I welded in a swivel base on the passengers side.

Hi all, so a non swivel drivers seat gives you more leg room?

Virginia is one of those places, although I imagine there are more around than I know about, because in this area if you have one it is unlikely to be a daily driver. What I found amusing about the ad is that if the seller knows anything at all about Westfalias, they should know the swivel seat is not "rare". Agreed about not having the swivel on the drivers side, especially if you are over 6' tall.
