'getting under the van' ..
now and then ..
or at least having the wheels off the ground once in a while,
say twice a year.
........is fundamental to taking care of a vanagon.
if you don't get under it once in a while..
or get wheels off the ground to check for suspension and wheel bearing
looseness and wear ..
you're not really taking care of it much.
ya gotta get under then now and then, that's all there is to it.
like say, check trans oil level .....
not wise to go years without checking that.
or ...
pulling out the magnetic drain plug ( manual trans ) and seeing how much
metal is on it ..
it's *good* to get under there !
just be careful .
