Yes. Of course. A heater core full of circulating hot coolant would only add heat to the cab interior. That said, I don't know how much cooler the cab interior would be if the valve was closed.

Bottom line: I tend to avoid travel in really hot weather and like having the option of heat should I need it.

It's also possible I'm too lazy to lower the clam shell, stick my hand up there and turn the valve. < grin >
