And the other part about 'urban myth'...that "Oh yes, those engines vibrate.....I hear" but like Subie transplants with a bazillion electrical glitches....you only hear about the ones that do have issues (caused by the poor assembly...the Tiico list folks say) There are plenty of others who say nothing because nothing bad happens..Like Miguel, et al.

Being really tight? Not so much with my ABA conversion, which is very much like that Tiico. I swapped in a new camshaft and replaced a head gasket with the motor in the van in one afternoon...Plenty of room in there for the most part. From my reading, I am guessing the Tiico motor configuration has a peaky power output...Mine seems pretty good across the RPM range....though it ain't no diesel or WBX that like to be floored at 1500rpms and shifted at 3500...

The best element of the conversion I have seems to be the 5sp tranny...
