hi.. they're sure not revealing much by saying engine and trans have to be mated out of the van. that by itself is not going to do anything different than I can see.

virtually all cars can have either engine mated to trans in vehicle or vise versa without problems.. I'd have to say they are not saying very much that is really useful there.

'by itself..' both being out of the van won't make a difference. ...they're not telling the whole story there at all.

I'm trying hard to recall if I had those locator dowels on my Jetta 2.0 + KEP plate.

I had read FAS comments before on installing the drivetrain and have always wondered what they're getting at. (section 4) here:

As for pulleys, aside from the AC delete setup, and lack of PS, my 2.0 accessory bracket et al has been bullet proof. But. I believe it's a different design than the Tiico. Especially their first incarnations.

Still that Tiico page has some useful comments IMO.
