Would it work to "dangle" it out of the license plate door?  That is, keep it bundled neatly, but then an easy connection and you're good to go.  Us "non-Westy" guys do that to make a clean 120 VAC installation for when in campgrounds with electric power.  (Not that I've done it...still route the trusty 35' extension cord out the driver's door footwell and let the rubber weatherstrip compensate; but, one of these days...)
