Since we are all having so much fun torturing glass, have you ever
tried cut glass with scissors?
 I did this to trim glass for an odd shaped picture frame, and it really works.

I have cut a wine bottle to make a drinking glass using string,
kerosene, a match, and a bucket of water.
Can’t for the life of me remember WHY, though.
