The straps has to go bye bye. It doesn't fit. After you improve the hold down the hinge rivets will pop out. Also make sure you have the insulator on top of the positive terminal and yes the connection screw for the two red wires is supposed to face down.

Drat! My battery box lid hold-down retainers have given up the ghost. With no grip, the battery lift strap keeps pushing the lid up so I can't slide the seat back - plus it rubs the bottom side of the seat.

Anyone have a couple of these you wouldn't mind parting with.
