Well thanks Pete, I guess... The digiwife and I drove down to Merrillville from western MI and picked it up today. One more non-running van for my collection. The rust is about as bad as the pictures looked. The canvas is probably bad. The kitchen stuff looks good at first glance. When I looked in the back the engine lid was up and the AFM and aircleaner seemed to be missing. I went to Mr Wolf and complained that he had told me that no parts had been taken off. He started muttering about people stealing stuff and looking thru his box of misc AFMs. Then one of his michanics found it between the engine lid and the back seat. The mechanic told me that it would possibly start so I put the AFM in and tried it, but the battery was nearly dead from a month or two of standing around. One of the back wheels was locked up at first when we towed it out of the parking space. Needed a little hammering. On the way home it produced a sizable oil spot on the trailer under one of the valve covers. At home, when towing it to a parking spot, it fired up for a few seconds a couple of times. The throttle seemed to have little influence on the engine speed. Didn't hear any loud knocking, but the exhaust was pretty loud. We'll see...Another potential project waiting for me to find the time. Larry A.
