Read your message again. Sounds to that you just need a new key cut. The keys wear out so they work fine on the locks used most often. If you have the original keycode, have a locksmith cut a fresh key. The rear hatch hardly has any wear and tear so worn keys have trouble getting them open. I can't remember offhand but you should be able to get the code from one of the door handles if they have never been rekeyed before.
