re And can Girling and ATE calipers be substituted for each other?" if you have the caliper carriers that match the particular caliper brand. it's ok to put power steering knuckles on your non-PS Vanagon .. but the steering ratio will be slightly faster.. and steering effort a little higher. you can also convert an 83 to PS . bit of work though. scott www.turbovans.com
