That's what I do. My Anderson Powerpole connectors are right behind the license plate door. I plug 50 ft of BIG speaker wire into those and put my panels in the sun. My aux battery is under the rear seat so I ran the leads through the firewall and out through the engine compartment to the license plate door. The only hole I had to drill was under the rear seat where it is well protected and easy to occasionally check for rust. Why put another hole in the outside of your van when you don't have to?
