Subject: Automatic transmission woes on 84 2WD vANAGON
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Last year, my local VW mechanic had my automatic transmission rebuilt. A year later, when the transmission won't upshift when the fluid is cold, he tells me that I likely have a "faulty seal on a band actuator" and he wants $1800 to fix it. When transmission is warm, transmission operates okay.

Does above make sense?

Thank you,

John
