did you cycle the fuel pump with the key about 10 times to pressurize the fuel lines before trying to fire it up ? that's only logical right ?

if I ever find the time.. I might post picks of all the blown up vw diesel engine parts I've seen on my website, to confirm why I think they are delicate dangerous things, that pollute and smell toxic . and need injection pump rebuilding etc. etc. etc.

not that waterboxer headgaskets are anything less than a joke. They're not perfect either. But they sure are smooth.. and no timing belt, no t-belt tensioner .....non -interference engine..

and let me tell sometime you what an insanely stupid, and risky design, the mounting of the hyper critical timing belt sprocket is on a 1.9NA or TD diesel engine crankshaft nose is.

hope you get your EFI hoses and injectors figured out !

btw.. I just looked at a freshly purchased fairly fancy wbxr westy .. the fuel hoses on the engine had been replaced. the return hose is an original. that original hose is so tough .. you could tow a vanagon with a loop of it, really.

the new hose.. not even sure it was properly rated EFI hose. very soft hose.. almost like carb hose.. no covers on the new fuel hoses.. and in some places , cheap american # 4 small clamps that cut into the hose. shaking my head...

do good work ! Scott www.turbovans.com
