I have both Quick-N-Easy and Yakima rain gutter racks. They both fit into
the rain gutter with the retaining clips hooking over the edge and under the
bottom outside of the gutter. I have never noticed them 'blocking'
anything. The tower support is much narrower than the gutter, it doesn't
fill it up completely.
I had my Q-N-Easy mounted on a Dodge van with a fiberglass raised roof. I
made my 'bars' from some 2X4 (+/_) Alaskan yellow cedar and painted them
because I left the rack on, and I carried a big load (sailboards and
surfboards for extended Baja winter trips) In order to get enough height to
get the 'bars' to clear the higher top, I added some shorter
'blocks'...maybe about 18" long (depending on the angle your top slants in
from the gutters) and spaced the full width bar up another 2" that way. A
very good rack system.
The Yakima I have mounted on my rear hatch on the Van.
