Loren: You were very cleaver to spot that little difference. However, you must remember this was before Britain joined the EU. That French fellow described the coriolis force as going clockwise down his drain, however south of the equator it is going counter clockwise or widdershins from the German point of view. Over here in N America we’re very democratic and thus we race in a “figure eight” with our VW's (Hey- Van content!) to give both opinions an equal try-out…
