Despite the obvious grace and athleticism of Dwile Flonking, it has some unfortunate baggage. Coote Featherstonehaugh coming down with Compulsive Maladaptive Anticipation Syndrome (CMAS) at the '54 British Empire Games in Sydney Australia might have been only a footnote if the English manager Leggy Mountbatten (who went on to manage The Rutles) had not been caught with that sheep in his hotel room.

As it was, the two events were combined (unfairly in my opinion) in the Australian tabloid press to portray Dwile Flonking as a sport rife with perversion and ennui.

But perhaps enough time has passed so that sports broadcasters may once again be heard to breathlessly intone as the players take their places...
