Subject:      AC Compressor Mount Repair

  So I'm ready to install my new AC compressor only to find the bolt
holes in the casting are totally gone on one end and badly buggered in
the bushing on the other.


Anyone have an y good idea about h ow to repair this? Can I drill out
and install a helicoil in the aluminum casting where there were threads
in the aluminum at one time? I can use a tap and try and straight up the
threads in the steel bushing on the other side. If that doesn't work,
I'll have to drill out the steel bushing and replace it with something.
ETKA doesn't show that steel bushing so I'm not sure how to deal with that.


Any suggestions would be appreciated.
