Jack if you were in working in my shop under my direction .. I 'might' just answer your question .. but I would also say .. man ..you sure should be able to figure that one out ..

got yer owner's manual ? ever fill you washer fluid ? two good hints right there..

and...really ..that is not the right area at all to be running wires dash-to-engine. You follow the factory wiring harness.. which goes out the front 'firewall' near where the speedometer cable goes though. remove front grill. remove left head light bucket, several grommeted wire harness hoes are there .. wires are routed through those, down the left side of the radiator .. then back ..following stock factory wire bundles.. getting things over the fuel tank is the only area you have to be creative about ... if you are leaving the tank in place..and there's a huge tunnel right down the middle of it .

'do what the manurfacturer did' ... which is follow the factory-insalled wire bundles.

and how people can just droop wires across engines or wherever.. and not even tie them to, and route them with , already-exisiting wiring bundles is just totally, totally beyond me. and............I have seen a 12,000 plus dollar tdi engine conversion .. with a single wire just drooped across the engine on the way to its component. Just 'drooped' across. How does a person do that ???
