The inline 4 heads can twist! The unknowing remachine them to get them to seal not realizing that the cam bearings are no longer lined up.

that's why I never touch the things. can anyone spell " u n d e r b u i l t." ? lol. "I'm sorry sir .. your cases are twisted ....and your engine isn't even good for a core to rebuild."

this is the kind of thing I *don't want to know* about in VW's ..and why I simply do not touch air-cooled vw's.
