Just curiously... those rain gutter attachments look like the sit into the rain gutters (and would possibly block the flow of water). Do you know if this is correct?

The yakima (and possibly thule) styles hook under the outside of the rain gutter and have a foot that sits on the roof. Or at least the yakima set I saw did.
