Yes, buy em. I've looked into them for my van, but I don't wanna spend the money...They're available in two different formats..cheaper ones that are mounted to your rims using screws and normal style ones that 'clip' into the wheel. I think they would look pretty good and they would help your van's aerodynamics.

I doubt that anyone can drive a van at sustained speeds that would seriously heat up the brake components. The dang things would just tip over.... Yeah, if you loaded it up with a ton or two and descended a long steep hill without using any engine braking...you might get some glowing rotors....but on a road that required continuous application of brakes, you ain't gonna be going fast enough in a vanagon to provide any meaningful air to the brakes anyhow..

At sustained speeds there is a remarkable amount of air moving past the vehicle. Anything one does to improve that air flow, do diminish drag, that is 'free gas mileage-free speed'....it is always there, every mile. Vanagons and Aerodynamics: That is an Oxy Moreon....but little things add up..

I know when I was doing 'speed' in the Open Highway races in Nevada..at ~200mph in my 928 Porsche...taping over the hood and hatch seams and small details like that were good for almost 15mph at full throttle...We did one run where I neglected to raise the windows.....30mph below our normal top end...and raising the window when already at speed? That was a real "No No" as was learned by one of our 'sister cars' who lost the glass trying that.

Moons....they would really fit the retro look of the older vanagon, too.
