Boy! Is that ever right!

One of the prime rules of 'fixing' something should be..."make sure it is more dependable when you finish your "fix" than it was before you fixed it....or leave it as it was..."

Often people set out to 'improve' something and don't consider, with enough intensity, all the consequences of what they are doing as they add the so called 'improvement'. So when their ill-considered modification fails somehow, it often results in waaay worse damage than if they never ever messed with it at all.

Auxiliary systems need to be very carefully thought-out and installed in such a manner that if the system should fail....your vehicle reverts to it's original set up...or as close to that as possible...Hoses and lines need to be very well mounted and out of harms way, they need to have room for flex, if there will be some and the components need to be isolated from harmful vibration. Check valves should be utilized where possible. Some method of knowing that your extra add on system is working is advisable and some plan on making the vehicle operable should you have a failure,,,that is worth thinking about.

Just because you get a kit and have some pro put it on...don't take that as 'better than stock'.....look at it your ownself and make sure they 'covered all bases'...

I found that the 'sandwich plate' oil take-off for my remote filter and cooler in my race car....that was poorly cast with a very small opening....so while I had #8 SS braided hoses and cool AN fittings everywhere....I was actually restricting the flow of oil until I checked and reworked the sandwich plate to enlarge the oil outlet....A great example of making things worse by 'improveing' them without double and triple checking everything.
