I had a Gene Berg temp-sensing dipstick on my 71 bus. Connected to the oil lamp on the dash. Lit the lamp when temp exceeded 220F or so.

David Beierl could design such a thing. Yeah, take inputs from magnetic compass, fuel sender, inclinometer, cell phone signal strength, photocell (for outside light intensity), temp sender, and a heavily low-passed Gaussian noise source. All hooked to one analog gauge. Sometimes.
