There are still a great many fantastic tools being made in Canada and the
USA. Best Tools in Bellingham has a HUGE selection of US-made tools -
that's where I get my drill bits and taps.
I just received a shipment of very nice small carbide router bits from
Whiteside Tools.
My Lie-Nielsen scraper plane is Made in USA and Lee Valley's Veritas line is
made variously in Canada and the USA.
Freud and Bosch were both made in Alabama, last I heard... I prefer to
patronize places like Best Tools and Hardware Sales in Bellingham and Lee
Valley in Vancouver for their personal commitment to quality. I've never
been inside a WalMart.
