Vanagon Westies never had this feature AFAIK, but they were real nice to have on the Deluxe 76-79 Bay Window Westies.

I have a small Sears Battery Charger setup in my Pantry cabinet that's plugged into the 110V outlet inside for the fridge and is hard wired to the batteries (I have 2) for when I'm connected to shore power (it's set on a 2amp trickle rate). Been using this setup for about 14 years now with no problems -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" 75 914 1.8 "Nancy" Full Timing Since March 1999 oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 10:16 AM, J Stewart <fonman4277@comcast.net> wrote: > My old '75 Westy had one, stock from the factory, not sure when Westfalia stopped installing them.
