I once smoked the GFCI on a hair dryer with a 5-watt marine VHF handheld at a range of about six feet. First it buzzed, then POP and a bright flash (it failed ON so I can still use the dryer, but I no longer take it in the bath with me).

Suggest you try a different buzzer unit or ditch the buzzer entirely or try some RF beads on the buzzer leads.
