Subject: '85 gl 1.9 manual - bogging out - no power over 2nd gear
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Darn Darn Darn - things have been going so well.

On my way home from work tonight I couldn't get Gertie over 35-40mph. she idles fine - starts right up - runs great in 1st and 2nd - but once I get into 3rd she starts losing some power and boggin gout - forget about 4th gear. I have to feather the clutch and gas to even get it going that fast.

She'll be going and then losing power - I mean I can ut it to the floor and no response at all - then bogs - then I let off for a few seconds - it revcovers and we start all over.

I tried disconnecting the O2 sensor - no change. did the same with the Temp sensor - no change.

I was considering that maybe the cat has failed and is plugged up because I've seen sypmtoms like this in cases like that before. I'll have to wait till she cools down to check.

Man 35 mph for 22 miles driving partially on the shoulder with my flashers going - what a drag.

-- Thanks,
