make it easy on yourself whip out the old dremel tool with metal cutting wheel and cut through one of the flats parallel with the shaft. crack it through with a cold chisel and spin it off cleaning up the threads. buy a new nut they are cheap and worth it the next time it has to come off. if the nut is too tight it can ruin the shaft threads talking it off by brute force. mike
