You got me. The product data sheet shows it as being rated SM which is 2004 and later. Maybe there are two versions of Syntec 20w-50! Is this really high zinc or not? Maybe it is just a slightly higher Zinc similar to the Mobil 1 15w-50.

Still, the real unique need for the Waterboxer is viscosity and that alone makes a 20w-50 even a better choice than 15w-40 for extended high speed operation.

All of our vans are 1991 or older. The web blurb says that the oil does not meet zinc standards required for vehicles 1993 and newer. But of course, our vans have catalytic converters and oxygen sensors. So, what gives?
