RJS, next time you head out for a weekend int he van, wrap a bottle of wine in a wet towel, or stick it in a wet terry towel sock or two. Problem would be to find a spot to put it, in some draught but not in the sun...

I can see a cottage industry, "Rocky's Bottle Socks". They not only will act as coolers, but can be used to prevent the bottles from clinking in the cupboard.
