Jon,

Thanks - you could definatley be on to something here. I got home from work yesterday and fired it up and it drove no problems at all.

I did not clean the tank - being my first experience with this I really didn't think about it - looking inside the darn thing was clean and shinny - I didn't consider the sump area.

I'll swap the filter out and just might go with a clear pre-folter like you did and possibly the pressure guage in line after the big filter as well.
