A few weeks ago, I posted estimate from my VW mechanic to fix slow
upshift problem on my '84 Vanagon.  He wanted $1800.

I then took van to Master Transmission here in Macon, GA.  I picked up
the van this afternoon.  Total bill was $84.75 for new filter and
transmission fluid.  Transmission now shifts very smoothly.

The folks at Master Transmission are good but they can be expensive on
the newer and fancier transmissions.
