Hi All, As promised I've found a way to "fix" the archives website using a addon for Firefox called greasemonkey. Greasemonkey allows you to change the look, feel, and contents of a html page before it is displayed by the browser. You can find greasemonkey here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/ You'll need to install it into firefox by clicking on the "Add to Firefox" button. Then restart firefox and now you should see a little monkey icon (mine is in the upper right corner of the browser). Click on the monkey to get a dropdown box and select "Add new User Script". Here are the following details: Name: VanagonArchives Namespace: VanagonArchives Description: Fix the incorrect HTML comment tags Includes: http://gerry.vanagon.com/* Click OK Then click on the monkey again and go into Manage User Scripts. You should see one called VanagonArchives. Right click on it and select Show Containing Folder. A folder will appear with a file called vanagonarchives.user.js Open that file for editing and add the following as the last line in the file: document.body.innerHTML= document.body.innerHTML.replace(/(<!--- |<!---)/g,"<");
That should all be a single line. Save and close the file. Than go and reload the archives site. Everything should work now. Please let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Harry |
Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of
Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection
will take up to five minutes to complete. Please be patient!
