Does that rebuild have a new or re-worked shaft? They wear just behind the bearing. If the forks are flattened where they push on the bearing it should be replaced to prevent clutch chatter.

BTW, thanks everyone for your replies--something someone said prompted me to
better search terms and I found a thread here discussing it:

Looks like it's normal not to have it and people debate whether that's a
good thing :).
