Reminds me of that old Canadian tv fishing show with "Red Fisher" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Red_Fisher_Show)

Was Ontario based mostly I think, and big feature was the "shore lunch" where there were glamour shots of fish frying in tons of lard in cast iron skillets.

Remember SCTV did a spoof of it with John Candy as a Red Fisher type guy? The running gag was the shore lunch and Candy refusing to eat it because he didn't like fish.
