Have you tried a NAPA store? They have it available and a good warranty. Easier to return when purchased locally.

I have been trying to find a ZF power steering pump - remanufacured by ZF or otherwise - for some time now. Only a single List Vendor has one, and it is priced way out of line in my opinion. However - nobody else that I know has them. Outside of the List Vendors the two I tried had the online catalog at $125 and $225 respectively. But when I ordered from the first, I immediately got a refund and an e-mail saying their catalog was in error, they were not in stock, and there was no date by which they would get any more. The second sent me a ZF pump (Beck/Arnley re-build, usually pretty reliable in my experience) and it was crap from the moment it was installed. Hd to send it back. But they had no replacement and did not know when they would be able to get any more.

So it appears the sources for this PS pump are beginning to dry up. I would like very much to know about rebuilding these ourselves. Vane pumps are pretty simple in their construction. The vanes get the most wear, and should be easily replaceable - if one can get them. Bus Depot and others sells the seal kit - but the vanes availability are another issue.

I have accumulated 5 pumps now - all crap! Surely there must be a way.

John
