far as I know, makes no difference. I have seen them both ways.

and I have sure seen a lot of poorly routed re-done fuel hoses on waterboxers though. Like fuel pressure testing port that can't be accessed etc.

it is a little confusing. it helps to draw a map before you take it apart, or have another engine to look at to make sure the are back on right. you didn't swap feed and return lines somehow did you ? the fuel pressure regulator is 'at the end of the line' ... like the return line leaves from the FP regulator,. back to the tank, on the left side.
