The old saying in racing....."Nothing beats cubic dollars".....VW?Audi?...they even badged some of those monsters as Bently for one season.

I do hear Porsche is contemplating going back to Le Mans I got to watch a historic sports car event at a PCA race at Laguna Seca....Can-Am cars including some of the Gulf 917 P-cars, those Nissan turbo monsters that Paul Neuman drove, a Chapparal Chevy...(with a Sachs engine driving a huge central mounted fan to 'suck' the chassis down for traction and two giant wings...)

Pretty cool stuff..Besides NASCAR, most racing does develop vehicle technology. NASCAR, on the other hand...they still have carburators mandated....yet they still get those giant racecars going over 200mph on the larger ovals...

Fun stuff...It is my understanding that one of my neighbors is currently driving a Doka that was originally used as a chase truck on the Dakar race.... Don Hanson
