To which I replied something like, "I already rigged an alarm in my '84 and posted what I did somewhere on the list, but can't search the archives (see current thread "Searching Archives") to find out what I wrote."

Richard Jones posted today that,

"[...] you can search the archives by email. The page describing it even displays correctly in the current Firefox: http://gerry.vanagon.com/info/searching.html "

It does display correctly in current Chrome, too, and the email searching method works. I used it and found that I had written a wiki article on how I wired my alarm (should work for '83's, too), which the terminally bored and morbidly obsessive can view at:

(This was not posted to re-start this weekend's "I never forget to turn off my lights," and "but I do," and "parking lights don't draw much power" and "yeah they do," and "nuh-uh," and "un-huh," tedium, but rather as a followup prompted by this magical new [to me] way to search the archives.)
